In February 2022 having written rewritten and edited my memoir “Ain’t Gonna Be Denied” I set about to get editorial assistance to reduce it from approximately 150k words to around 75k words without compromising the spirit of the storyline and to have it published.While researching editorial assistance I saw an ad for Advanced Ghostwriting services. The company offered 85 percent off its regular price which was never mentioned and AG offered “world class” writers and a path to publishing my memoir. I contacted AG and spoke to Steven Smith an AG recruiter. He reiterated the AG advertisement and offered “100 percent moneyback guarantee.” In addition I received and email from AG’s Susan Hughes who wrote: Hope you are doing well we have professional Ph.D. qualified in-house writers and retired professors in every field of writing who would be taking care of the book for you.... Ms. Hughes further reiterated: Money back guaranteed (if the work is not done based on your given topics guidelines and approved outlines.) I paid AG $2700. And after two months and little progress I realized AG provided subpar service that a grammar software could have provided for a fraction of both the cost and time that AG took. My M.S. had not improved one iota. Steven Smith practically begged me to give them three months to improve. But the service only got worse. AG fired the first editor. The second editor was not satisfactory either. After a couple of months with the second editor I demanded that she be replaced or that AG give me my money back. AG claimed to replace that subpar editor however by July the promise of a new editor never happen and AG had stopped responding to my telephone inquiries except to say that I would not be getting my money back in spite of my dissatisfaction with subpar editing services and the failure to reduce the M.S. as agreed or provide any of the world class services promised.
